Providing the campus bookstore and staff additional support with state-of-the-art technology
The new platform provides undergraduate students personalized access to low-cost course materials
We are thrilled to announce that Northwest Nazarene University (NNU), a vibrant educational community in Nampa, Idaho, that instills habits of heart, soul, mind, and strength in each student, has selected us to launch its new online bookstore to manage the school’s textbook adoptions and sales. The University’s 2,200 students will have access to a convenient, cost-effective, and efficient course materials solution in addition to their NNU Campus store this fall.
University to Run On-Campus Merchandise Store as it Moves Books and Course Materials Online
We are thrilled to announce that Judson University has selected Akademos as its partner to launch a hybrid bookstore model at the school. An evangelical Christian University in Elgin, IL, Judson’s community and more than 1,200 students will be supported by an elevated in-store and online experience. Using Akademos’ premier course materials platform, Judson will move textbook sales online while running an on-campus store for branded merchandise and apparel. The new merchandise store comes just in time to support Judson’s emerging football program, which began last fall.
Providing the campus bookstore and staff additional support with industry-leading technology
We are very excited to announce our newest partnership with Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS). Southern is one of the largest seminaries in the world, and it is committed to offering students a deeper, richer, and stronger educational experience. With so many invaluable responsibilities in the daily operation of the campus bookstore, SBTS decided to have a trusted technology partner to help alleviate the tedious management of a course materials program that would free the staff to focus on the parts - and people - that matter. Enhancing the bookstore with Akademos technology will optimize the dedicated on-campus store in an online setting.
Implementing an online bookstore to manage all of the course material logistics doesn’t mean it is necessary to get rid of the on-campus store. Campus stores can be a central location where students frequently gather to shop for spirit wear, grab coffee and snacks, and meet up with peers. Mitchell Technical Institute has partnered with us to manage their course materials while they focus on selling tools, spirit wear and other goods to support their programs, scholarships, and more.
Self-operated bookstores are becoming increasingly burdened by the complex requirements of managing course materials from negotiating prices with multiple publishers, to navigating state textbook regulations, competing with online sellers, and managing custom course packs and digital materials. Fast-evolving textbook service demands can strain staff and resources.
