Mercy College of Health Sciences is Improving the Student Experience

Mercy College of Health Sciences (MCHS) students can now access their course materials through a college-branded bookstore website powered by Akademos. With a single sign-on option, designed for convenience, students have the ability to view their enrolled courses and adopt required course materials. They can also choose to purchase from multiple options including new, used, digital, and through the Akademos Marketplace.

The four-year private institution sits in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, and offers both online and campus-based healthcare degree options at master’s, bachelor’s, associate, or certificate levels to approximately 1,000 students annually.

Jennie Ver Steege, Director of Library and Media Services at MCHS said, “E-commerce is ubiquitous in our lives, but purchasing course materials presents both faculty and students with so many options and decisions that it can be intimidating. Akademos offers excellent online help and support, and faculty appreciate the well-designed course materials adoption portal.”
